But while all of us complain but eventually embrace the routine and the boring, Krishna (‘Jayam’ Ravi) refuses to do so. He is determined to get a kick out of life and does all kinds of things, most of it pretty uncool, but there is a little bit of the ‘catch me if you can’ attitude in him which is initially slow off the blocks but picks up momentum in the second half. This is yet another Telugu-to-Tamil remake from director Raja, and this one is based on ‘Kick’, which was a phenomenal hit with Ravi Teja walking off with honours in the original because of his sense of the comic timing in a silly story. ‘Thillalangadi’, which is a faithful reproduction, somehow lacks that light touch needed to carry off the candyfloss content. To a large extent, blame must be laid at the door of ‘Jayam’ Ravi. He makes a ham of what is simply a ridiculously featherweight character. Look at his early exploits. He helps in a runaway marriage between the daughter of a MLA and the family car driver. But with his over the top acting, the film reels like a drunkard. And the meeting with the heroine Nisha (Tamannah) in elopement ends up as one screechy episode. The interludes with Jackson (Vadivelu) is what passes for comedy in Kollywood, and one won’t blame you if you fail to laugh. Adding to the chaotic situation is the high-pitched dubbing for Tamannah which does not help anyone. The film has a beautiful shot of Tamannah doing yoga in Malaysia. The way the camera kisses her postures is something of a hotseller DVD. She then shares a train ride with Krishna Kumar (Shaam) and his name triggers off the past. When she eventually fell in love with Krishna but having declared her love, parted from him, while he merrily goes around skimming off money from the rich. For a lark you think, but he is your Robin Hood all right. The lives of Krishna and Krishna Kumar mesh, since Kumar is a cop, chasing Krishna but losing out every time. Krishna even challenges him to catch him by December 16, after which it will become mission impossible. Mockup photoshop cs3 free. Why Krishna robs the politicos and the mystery of the December 16 deadline are well executed by the director in the last 20 minutes of the movie. In fact, once Shaam enters the scene, the film steadies. Shaam’s is a neat work. Master kolase. Tamannah does what is expected of her, while Radha Ravi as the health and later home minister makes you smile. Can’t say the same of Yuvan’s score. On the whole a no-brainer that should have fetched the laughs but falls flat.
